Suzuki Splash: New Pictures And Details Released

Carscoop Suzuki Splash 3 Suzuki Splash: New Pictures And Details Released

In case people started putting the Splash out of their mind, Suzuki decided to liberate a revised version of the latest press release and while they were at it, they threw in a bunch of new images included one with the interior which is 100% identical to the one found in its Opel clone, the ’08 Agila. We remind you that, with identical engineering, the main visual differences between Splash and Agila include different styling at front (bonnet, wings, headlamps and bumper) and rear (tailgate, tail lights and bumper). Both cars will be built at Suzuki’s European factory in Esztergom, Hungary.

Back to the Splash, based on a 30 mm shorter wheelbase version of the Swift’s platform, it will rival cars like the Fiat Panda and the forthcoming Hyundai i10 (Atos). Suzuki will offer the Splash with three engine options, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol unit producing 65Hp, a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine developing 86 Hp and a 1.3-litre common-rail direct injection diesel engine producing 75Hp. Like the ’08 Agila, the Splash will make its first public appearance in Frankfurt with sales staring in Europe next spring.

Frankfurt Review: Suzuki Kizashi Concept

 Frankfurt Review: Suzuki Kizashi Concept

I can’t believe that I’m saying this for the second time today and God knows how many times during my stay at the Frankfurt Show, but here’s another Japanese car that definitely gets my vote for its unique and dare to say, attractive styling. And mind you, this is no simple exercise. See, Suzuki plans to enter the D-Segment (Ford Mondeo, Mazda6, Honda Accord, BMW 3-Series etc) in the very near future, and the AWD Kizashi that’s powered by a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine, contains the core values of the production model -sporty to drive, exciting to look at and at the same time, affordable. But will the production model actually look like the concept? That remains to be seen, but we certainly hope so.

    Cobra Suzuki SX4

    Carscoop SX4a Cobra Suzuki SX4
Cobra came out with a couple of “off-road looking” accessories for Suzuki’s compact crossover that include a stainless-steel front guard and sill guards. The German based tuner also offers three different set of alloys for the SX4. Sorry to say this but even with these accessories the SX4 still looks utterly dull. Pity, cause design and limited boot-space apart, it’s a real honest and enjoyable proposition in the compact car segment.

Press Release: To make the front of the Japanese Cross-Over from compact car and SUV even more striking Cobra Technology & Lifestyle offers a high-gloss stainless-steel front guard with a tube diameter of 60 millimeters. This accessory part successfully passed the crash test which is necessary to meet all current EG guidelines for pedestrian protection. The part, which has flexible mounts and is designed to absorb energy, comes with an EG operation certificate, eliminating the need for a technical inspection and for amending the vehicle papers.

Additionally the Suzuki can be refined with a bumper grate made from high-gloss stainless steel. The exactly fitting and easy-to-mount accessory can be alternatively mounted with or without the Cobra Technology & Lifestyle front guard. The Cobra Technology & Lifestyle 60 millimeter stainless-steel tubular sill guards with integrated step are attractive and practical since they also facilitate entering and exiting the vehicle. They also round out the Off Road look.
The tire/wheel combinations from Cobra Technology & Lifestyle are custom-tailored for all versions of the Suzuki SX4: Altogether there are three different wheel designs in sizes ranging from 7.5Jx16 to 8Jx17. The most exclusive wheel is the multi-piece Cobra Grenada five-spoke wheel in size 8Jx17 with 225/45 R 17 tires.

You’d think this pair of funky mini-4×4’s would be the work of some loony-tuner with a big imagination and a heap of spare time, but actually, they’re offered officially by Suzuki Germany. Being politically correct. Suzuki offers one for the girlz, the zebra-colored “Daktar” und one for the boyz, the military “Camouflage”. Both special edition Jimny’s come equipped with an 86Hp strong 1.3-liter engine and are priced at 17.200 EUR (23.200 USD). However, you’d better hurry up because only 75 units of each version will be offered. If anything, you won’t go by unnoticed.

      Suzuki Splash: Official Images Released

Carscoop Splash 4 Suzuki Splash: Official Images Released
Following the revelation of Opel’s Agila earlier today, Suzuki released the first pictures of the Splash mini that will debut along with the Agila at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Theoretically, the Suzuki’s new mini which is based on the Swift platform is closely related to last year’s Splash Concept, however, design-wise we see very little in common between the two. Since the Agila is based on the Splash with very few optical differences like the redesigned front-end and rear light-clusters, there’s no difference in dimensions (3.740 mm in length, 1.680 mm in width and 1.590 mm in height). Likewise, the engine range will consist of three engines, two petrol 1.0 & 1.2-liter delivering 65 and 86 Hp respectively and one 1.3-liter common-rail turbodiesel with 75 Hp. The Splash is expected to go on sale in Europe next spring

Press Release & high-res pictures below

World Premiere at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt / Available with three engines with CO2 emissions below 140 g/km
With the Splash, a new fresh and exciting small passenger car, Suzuki Motor Corporation intends to gain a significant market share in this growing market segment in Europe. The new flexible compact car combines the sportiness of Suzuki’s successful model Swift with the technologies and immense know-how of the Japanese world market leader in the mini car segment. The Splash is not the successor of any specific former Suzuki model, but a brand-new concept to satisfy the needs of demanding European customers in terms of roominess, compactness, modern design, aerodynamics, quality, driveability, performance and environmental friendliness. The safety equipment encompasses state-of-the-art features such as six airbags and an Electronic Stability Program (ESP®*). It looks fresh, energetic, juvenile and emotional and thereby underlines the aspiration of its name Splash. Within the global growth strategy of Suzuki, the Splash is already the fourth entirely new model within three years after the launch of Swift, Grand Vitara and SX4 which all embody Suzuki’s unique ‘Way of Life!’-philosophy.
Within this market segment, the car convinces with a relatively tall body (1.6 metres) based on the chassis from the sporty Swift. With its overall length of 3.7 metres and width of 1.7 metres it offers an amply tall and comfortable roomy cabin with sufficient legroom for adults on all seats. Its modern design leads to excellent aerodynamic efficiency and consequently to low carbon-dioxide emissions.
The Splash will make its worldwide debut at the International Motor Show in September in Frankfurt am Main. Sales of the car with its excellent ride comfort will start as of spring 2008. It will be available with two different petrol engines: a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, 12-valve unit with maximum power of 48kW (65hp) and a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, 16-valve unit with maximum power of 63kW (86hp). With these engines, low friction and plentiful flat torque delivery at low and mid-range speeds help to ensure good driveability across the rev range while promoting fuel economy and limiting CO2 emissions. Customers preferring a diesel engine can choose a proven 1.3-litre, common rail, 16-valve unit with optional particulate filter and a maximum power of 55kW (75hp). In light of the growing need for environmental compatibility, emissions of all three engines with 5-speed manual gearbox are between only 120g/km and 140g/km. The petrol engines were both newly developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation as next-generation power engines. The diesel engine will be produced at Suzuki’s plant in India under licence from GM Powertrain Europe.
Suzuki aims to sell up to 60,000 units per year of the Splash in Europe. The brand-new model has been developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation and will be produced by its subsidiary company Magyar Suzuki Corporation in Hungary.

This year’s Auto Expo in New Delhi, India, is turning out to be a crowd puller as many automakers chose the show to unveil an array of concept and production models designed with the domestic market in mind. Maruti Suzuki took the covers off the R3, a Compact Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) that was penned at the firm’s Research and Development Department in India.
Despite its compact size, the futuristic looking concept model can accommodate a total of six passengers in three rows of seats. Suzuki didn’t release any more details on the R3, but it has been speculated that the concept model may base a production version in the very near future.

Being the only car manufacturer that will participate at the forthcoming International Green Week in Berlin, Suzuki wants to make a splash at the fair with a custom made Alto. The Japanese automaker covered its mini car in a vinyl wrap (or at least it looks like a wrap) with a design that imitates fish scales and to top it off, they also added a… tail fin. Billed as the world’s largest fair for food, agriculture and horticulture, the International Green Week runs from January 15 to 24 in Berlin.

DAMD: Mini Shot Suzuki want's to be an Escalade

Carscoop DAMD SZ 10 DAMD: Mini Shot Suzuki want's to be an Escalade

Winding Road said it best when it referred to the Suzuki Every Wagon as a “shrunken version of the Caddy Escalade”. They drew an even wittier connection with the one hit wonder “I Wish” by shorty pants rapper Skee-Lo. We have to give some props for thinking to bring up this poor little self hating rapper that “wanted to be a little bit taller.”

We also give props to the Suzuki “wanna be” Caddy Escalade even though it looks a bit “twilight zonish”. The DAMD Concept B Type 1 Every DA64W (what gorgeous name!) sports the insertion of a Caddy-style grille, chromed nine-spoke wheels and additional running-board style side garnishes and an abbreviated rear bumper cap. There a serious effort in preserving the “slade-esque” in the design. All in all, thumbs up for the little Suzuki that could. You’ve got a long way to go, but you’re off to a respectable start.
